An Iranian oil official told the reporters about 8 nearly finished petrochemical projects to be tapped in near future.
According to programs, Iranian petrochemical plants are increasing their output so that they have produced over 18 million tons of petrochemical products in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-July 22), said Ali-Mohammad Bassaghzadeh the production manager of Iran’s National Petrochemical Company (INPC) in a press conference on Tuesday.
The official recounted that petrochemical plants in Assalouyeh have seen 7% increase while in Mahshahr the number is 1% and in other areas 3%.
In the same 4-month period, according to Bassaghzadeh, some petrochemical plants produced more than 90% of their capacity namely Mehr, Laleh, Shiraz, Khorrasan, Shazand, Kermanshah, Khark, and Kermanshah Polymer Petrochemical Plants.
He also asserted that some other plants saw a 10% increase vis-à-vis their last year’s output in the same span among which are Maroun, Nouri, Pardis, Aryasasoul, Tabriz, Isfahan, Ghadir, Ilam, Karoun, Farabi, Razi, Arya Phosphoric, and Urmia.
Giving an account of problems ahead of the plants not meeting their objectives, Bassaghzadeh said that 44% of unsuccessful plants were not fed enough, 28% were engaged with reconstruction plans, and 16.5% of the plants suffered from processing problems.
The Iranian official broke the news that Fajr Plant phase 2, Sulfur Cleaning of Nouri Plant, Takht-e-Jamsheed Plant of Mahshahr, two units of poly ethylene plant of Lorestan, Sulfuric Acid Unit of Urmia Plant, Kavian Plant phase 2, and Damavand Power Plant will go operational in near future.
Expansion projects of Ammonia and Urea units of Shiraz Petrochemical Plant, phase two of Ethylene Pipe of Gharb, and MEG of Morvarid Petrochemical Plant were the other projects to be launched in near future according to Bassaghzadeh.
