Serbian Emergency Situation Minister Advisor Dejan Racic said on Friday that Serbian traders are ready for cooperation and joint investment with the Iranian party in various economic domains.
Addressing a meeting, also attended by Iran's Ambassador to Belgrade, Majid Fahimpour, on Friday, Racic referred to commercial, economic, agricultural and cultural activities in Nis, the second big city of Serbia with a population of about 300,000 and said Serbian traders are ready to make investment in various joint ventures with the Iranian side.
He said Nis University is also ready for scientific and cultural cooperation with Iranian universities in exchange of students and professors and in conduction of research.
He then invited Iranian ambassador to visit Nis south of Serbia.
Fahimpour told the meeting that there is no impediement to expansion of mutual cooperation.
Fahimpour said government and people of Iran and Serbia are interested in expansion of 'good' relations and cooperation in various domains, including economic and cultural fields.
He said an Iranian economic delegation, headed by Deputy Minister of Industry , Mines and Trade and Head of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran Valiollah Afkhamirad will visit Belgrade mid September to get first hand account of information on expansion of mutual economic cooperation and to make arrangements for the 14th Tehran-Belgrade Joint Economic Cooperation Commission session, that will be held in Tehran mid September.
He went on to say that Serbian Education Minister, Srđan Verbić, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunication, Rasim Ljajić, and First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, will visit Iran this year, which is sign of good mutual ties and interest in expansion of bilateral ties.
