A new petrochemical complex is to be built in Maku Free Trade Zone in this northwestern province, an official said.
According to the Maku Free Trade Zone Organization Deputy Javad Rajabzadeh, the big complex will be built by domestic and foreign investors.
He told IRNA on Sunday that $ 800 million as well as rls 13.000 billion is to be spent on the project which will provide direct employment for one thousand people with another 4,000 getting jobs indirectly.
The complex is to be constructed in three years in a span of 165 hectares of land, he added.
According to the official, some of the items to be produced in the complex will include 516,000 tons of poly-propylene, 143,000 tons of crude petroleum and 54,000 tons of LPG each year.
Maku Free Trade Zone is located near a city by the same name in northwest of the country close to Turkish borders.
