Minister of economic affairs and finance announced in Tehran on Tuesday the principles for reforms in the banking system.
Addressing the 26th Annual Islamic Banking Conference in Tehran, Ali Tayyebnia said the principles will be presented to the government in the near future, IRNA reported.
The minister listed the principles as promoting digital banking, upgrading banking equipment, developing skill.
To overcome the problems faced by the banking system, two bills on techniques will be presented to the government, then to the Majlis for approval.
The 26th Annual Islamic Banking Conference began on Tuesday.
The two-day conference is focusing on 'Islamic Banking Experience' in Islamic countries such as Malaysia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Turkey, Sudan, Egypt, Oman, the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan.
It will also discuss the 'Islamic Banking Experience' in other countries such as the US, the UK, France, Belgium, Germany, Australia, Spain, Japan, South Africa and China.
The conference will further concentrate on modes of financing, resource mobilization and services of international Islamic banks and financial institutions.
