Abdolhossein Samari NIGC deputy announced that Iran’s gas production has increased by five million cubic meters during the first five months of this year.
Iran is currently the world’s largest holder of natural gas reserves, Samari reported the British Petroleum Company adding that if we receive financial support in the post-sanction period, development of gas fields will be among our priorities.
“In past we would import compressors from foreign countries but at the moment we are developing indigenous compressors,” noted NIGC deputy.
Expressing that our priority for the post-sanction era would be producing home-made equipment, this official underlined that, “after the removal of sanction, Iran is not supposed to fall behind the world with regard to technology.”
“Following the consultations carried out with foreign companies we have announced that we want to use their technology; nevertheless our priority would be domestic production because during the sanctions period we achieved a self-esteem which we plan to keep and foreign countries need to take up a new attitude towards the Islamic Republic of Iran,” added this official.
Underlining that European countries are witnessing Iran’s ability in all fields, Samari continued that, “by observing Iran’s ability, they have agreed to collaborate with us in promotion of technological cooperation.”
Reporting that in the first five months of this year we have produced five billion cubic meters more gas compared to the same period last year, he explained that, “accordingly, during this period more gas has been injected into the country’s grid.”
