Head of Tehran Chamber of Commerce Masoud Khansari on Saturday called for activation of North-South Corridor (joining India to Russia).
Khansari said that an agreement was signed for establishment of North-South Corridor in 2002 that was neglected by the former government.
He said that today the government is expected to activate that agreement.
Khansari said he believes that after lifting the sanctions, Tehran and Moscow will witness new situation and have to make use of their potentials to broaden bilateral relations.
He said that despite longstanding trade relations, Iran and Russia have never formed strategic partnership and political issues have always overshadowed relations between the two countries.
Khansari regretted that after the Islamic Revolution, Iran has always been seeking to have broad trade cooperation with China, and failed to make use of the potentials of Russia.
