Meeting his Brazilian counterpart, Iranian FM said that Iran-Brazil new cooperation will be based on investment and business.
Mohammad Javad Zarif made the remarks in a meeting with his Brazilian counterpart Mauro Vieira which was held on mutual ties as well as national and international issues.
Referring to Iran-Brazil long lasting mutual ties, Zarif said “the two countries have always enjoyed great ties and currently, we can expand relations in all fields namely economy, trade, agriculture, culture and science.”
“Iran enjoys great capacities in trade and industry which can lead to expansion of ties. In their future trips, the economy minister of Iran and Brazil’s minister of trade and industry, as heads of joint economic commission, can create opportunities for bilateral ties. Trade and investment are the basis of Iran-Brazil new era of cooperation,” the Iranian official said.
For his part, the Brazilian minister said “we warmly welcomed the deal reached between Iran and the 5+1 group of countries and congratulated Iran on the success. We hope that the result will lead to Iran-Brazil expansion of relations.”
Several Brazilian delegations including minister of trade and industry, accompanied by an economic group, as well as Brazilian minister of labor will travel to Iran in order to bolster ties.
After having meetings with Iranian high-ranking officials on the ways of improving relations after the implementation of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Brazil's minister is scheduled to take a trip to Lebanon.
