TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Renowned European chemical firms have voiced their interest to return to Iran after the sanctions relief, a senior official with National Petrochemical Company (NPC) said.
The director of investment at NPC has said representatives from several leading European companies have travelled to Iran in recent months to hold talks with Iranian officials to revive petrochemical trade with Iran after the sanctions relief.
Iran struck a historic deal on July 14 with the P5+1 group on its nuclear program in Vienna.
"We believe that a majority of petrochemical development projects in Iran will be completed by direct investments from European companies and we will be able to process new petrochemicals in our production units," said Amir Hassan Fallah.
"Iran's petrochemical industry enjoys numerous attractions for foreign financiers and the country would readily endorse international investors," he added.
He said European companies are competing with their Asian opposite numbers in returning to Iran after the sanctions.
