President Hassan Rouhani said Iran is not banning US companies adding they can also use the post-sanction conditions and in a competitive setting invest and transfer techonology to Iran.
He made the statements in a meeting with managers of US trade, economic and industrial firms in New York on Friday.
Based on Iranian Oil,Gas and Petrochemical products exporters union ,quoting Irna,Referring to the on-going negotiations between Iran and major European and Asian firms, he said, 'The post
sanction conditions have brought about new economic and political situation which could be utilized by the major trade, economic and industrial companies.'
About the likely barriers on way of invesment and presence of US firms in Iran, he said, 'There is no doubt that these barriers and objections will not stay.'
He explained his government's achievements in curbing inflation, passing through stagnation and recording three percent economic growth despite of sanctions and added that to fight economic corruption, private secotor's share will be increased.
He also reminded Iran's massive enegy resources and its geopolitical location and added, 'Such advantages coupled with security and stability accross the region and the railway network connecting China and Central Asia to the Oman Sea, have provided a unique position for economic activity in Iran.'
Elaborating on Iran's actions to foster peace and stability in the region, Rouhani said that despite of the insecurity in some of neighboring countries, Iran is is a safe haven.
'With receiving thousands of refugees, Europe has faced problems. But Iran has been hosting about 3 million Afghan refguees and some 400 thousand Afghan students are studying in Iranian schools,' he added.
He said one of the ways to shorten the distance between Iran and the US is economic cooperation as Iran has explained to the world its plans for modern technology, aviation industry and agriculture in a transparent way.
He also announced Iran's plans for development of oil, gas, agriculture and economic projects, and said Iran has always been committed to implement its contracts with foreign partners.
'In these circumstances, and in future, the pressure of the US public and companies on their government has increased and they won't let the current trend continue,' he said.
The representatives of the US firms introduced their capacities and raised questions on the ways of participation in Iran's economic sector.
President Rouhani is in New York to take part at the United Nations General Assembly and the UN Sustained Development Summit.
