Kazakhstan plans to dispatch a trade delegation to Iran to explore new business opportunities created in the country after its nuclear deal with the world’s major powers.
The delegation, consisting of 19 representatives from Kazakhstan’s National Export and Investment Agency, known as KAZNEX INVEST, is scheduled to visit Iran from October 11 to 13, according to the website of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture.
The delegates’ fields of activity include production of vegetable, oil seeds, cosmetics, chemical products, steel sheets, cable and wire in addition to manufacturing of X-ray equipment, surgical instrument kits, air conditioning systems and water treatment equipment.
Kazakhstan was the 20th leading importer of Iranian non-oil goods in the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 22-August 22), according to the Iran Customs Administration.
Iran exported $63.358 million of non-oil goods to Kazakhstan and imported $50.835 million of non-oil goods from the country in the five-month period.
Kazakhstan was also the 20th leading importer of Iranian non-oil goods in the previous Iranian calendar year, which ended on March 20, with importing $205.11 million of non-oil goods from Iran, while exporting $175.95 million of non-oil goods to the country.
Foreign trade delegations are one after the other visiting Iran following conclusion of Tehran’s nuclear agreement with the P5+1 group.
