Turkish minister: Iran will be country of economic opportunities
Turkish Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekçi said that Iran will be a country of economic opportunities in post-sanctions era.

He made the remarks after a meeting with Iran's Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Mohammad Reza Ne'matzadeh in a joint press conference with him Friday.

Ne'matzadeh arrived in Turkey on Thursday heading an economic delegation at the invitation of Zeybekçi.

Describing the economic talks between the two countries as positive and constructive, Zeybekçi said that he and Ne'matzadeh decided to hold periodical meetings every three months.

The executive process of preferential trade agreement between Iran and Turkey was reviewed and there is no problem in the way of its implementation, Turkish minister said.

He further noted that the two countries mainly pursue mutual investment in both countries to prepare the ground for merging of the two countries' economies, industries and trades so that they will be able to undertake activities in a third country.

Contending that Turkey has stood alongside Iran in times of strict international sanctions, Zeybekçi added that Turkey is pleased over final nuclear deal reached between Iran and 5+1 Group.

'We are interested to take strides hand in hand with Iran in the field of global trade,' he said.

Ne'matzadeh, for his part, said that the two countries' interests and fates are interrelated and they have demonstrated in the course of history that they can live together peacefully and solve problems.

He further noted that they are determined to raise the level of economic cooperation to $30 billion a year in line with fulfillment of decisions of the two countries' presidents.

The Iranian minister said that both countries boast numerous capacities which should be used to the benefit of both nations.

He also invited the Turkish companies to invest in Iran in various spheres such as transportation and energy.

Cultural and religious commonalities will give the Turkish firms an upper hand in investing in Iran compared to the other companies, he said.
