Masoud Khansari, the chairman of Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture, and Sorin Petre Dimitriu, the president of Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stressed expansion of trade ties between Iran and Romania.
In a meeting with Dimitriu, Khansari, who is in Romania with his accompanying delegation to explore ways for enhancing trade relations with the European country, said this visit is a turning point in promotion of economic ties between the two countries, the Shana News Agency reported on Saturday.
The Iranian official said the chambers of commerce of Tehran and Bucharest can play significant role in boosting trade between Iran and Romania.
Dimitriu, for his part, said the worth of Iran-Romania trade amounted to €115 million in the first seven months of 2015, showing 60 percent rise compared to the same period of time in 2014.
He said the figure could be increased given the two countries’ potentials.
There can be some noticeable economic and trade cooperation between Iran and Romania, the official sated; adding such visits can help enhancement of bilateral ties to some great extent.
Iran provides valuable opportunities for economic cooperation in the Middle East and in the world. It could be a proper partner for Romania; Dimitriu noted and expressed hope that he will visit Iran on the head of a Romanian delegation in the first quarter of 2016.
Addressing the same meeting, Hamid Mo’ayyer, the Iranian ambassador to Romania, said a new environment has been created for economic cooperation with Iran after the country’s nuclear deal with the world’s major powers.
He said several foreign economic delegations have visited Iran after the nuclear agreement to investigate business opportunities in the country in the post-sanction area.
