Afghanistan’s Minister of Urban Development Affairs Sadat Mansoor Naderi and his business delegation has met several Iranian officials.
The Afghan delegation met and talked with the directors and officers of Iranian construction companies as well as exporters of engineering services on Sunday morning in a meeting which was also attended by Iran’s Road and Urban Development Deputy Minister.
Afghanistan’s Minister of Urban Development Affairs Sadat Mansoor Naderi described the structure and working programs of his ministry and stated that, “despite the fact that Afghanistan is currently faced with many challenges including lack of thorough security, there exist good opportunities for investment and development in this country.”
“Afghanistan’s law has envisioned good facilities for national and international investors and we own cheap work forces,” added Naderi.
He further noted that, “considering urban development and housing sector, due to the recent population growth, great potentials exist for the expansion of the cities and construction of houses.”
Representatives of Iranian companies present at the meeting then took turn to express their capabilities and interests in various areas including housing and road-building in Afghanistan also taking the opportunity to remind of certain problems faced by them in Afghanistan.”
Afghanistan’s Minister of Urban Development Affairs appreciated the Iranian companies’ readiness to invest in his country and promised to take measures in resolving the existing problems.
Sadat Mansoor Naderi also visited Iran’s Bank Maskan as one of the country’s largest banks and at a meeting with its CEO expressed Afghanistan’s eagerness to earn the experiences of this Iranian bank which has been offering facilities for construction of houses and companies for 70 years.
The CEO of Bank Maskan Mohammad Hashem Botshekan also expressed gratitude over the presence of the Afghan official and his accompanying delegation stating that, “so far, we have granted credit facilities for construction of more than seven million residential units in Iran.”
Enumerating the features and achievements of Bank Maskan, the Iranian officials expressed their readiness to exchange experiences and to train Afghan banks who want to be active in the field of housing.
The Afghan business delegation, on Sunday evening, visited several of Tehran’s major construction projects including Tehran metro, Sadr tunnel and highway, Tabiat Bridge, Abo-Atash Park and Milad Tower and expressed satisfaction towards the Islamic Republic of Iran’s remarkable achievements.
