A top National Petrochemical Company (NPC) official Marziyeh Shafe'ie announced on Wednesday that the oil industry equipment that had been blocked by German oil equipment manufacturer, Siemens, has been released.
"Siemens has sent us all our blocked petrochemical equipment and other firms in Germany as well as other countries plan to do the same following the recent fruitful negations with Iranian officials," Shafe'ie was quoted as saying by Fars News Agency.
Earlier in July, Deputy Head of NPC Mohammad Hassan Peyvandi announced that the oil industry equipment that had been blocked in Germany would be released based on a decision by German Vice Chancellor and Economy Minister Sigmar Gabriel during his visit to Tehran in the same month.
"A large volume of the oil equipment ordered by Iran from Germany and manufactured in that country have been blocked and during our talks the German side agreed to release the equipment soon," Peyvandi said at the time.
He said that the German oil equipment manufacturers, including Siemens, had signed several agreements to manufacture the equipment required by Iran's oil industry, particularly for the refineries and petrochemical industries as well as the South Pars project.
Germany's decision came after Tehran and the six world powers signed an agreement in Vienna on July 14 to end the 13-year nuclear standoff.
