Director for International Affairs for National Iranian Oil Company Seyed Mohsen Qamsari referred to the primary agreement to export crude to the French Total and Russian Lukeoil companies as a new beginning.
He announced new round of talks with Total and Lukoil has started and added that the most important axis of these talks was selling crude oil.
Referring to Japanese oil refineries' desire to increase their oil purchase from Iran, Qamsari said that Iran is trying to regain its share of 3.5m b/d or 10 percent of the Japanese market, world's fourth largest.
Total's Director of Middle East and North Africa Office Steffan Michael attended the Iranian Petroleum and Energy Club Congress and Exhibition in Tehran last week. During this expo he said that Total is ready to provide financing and transfer of necessary technologies for Iran's oil and gas industry.
Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh had already called Total Company as a French frontier firm in the field of oil exploitation in Iran and underlined that a new chapter of cooperation to develop Iran's oil fields will soon begin.
