Iran will increase crude oil export in the post-sanctions era using new marketing techniques, announced the director of international relations of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC).
According to Shana, Mohsen Qamsari added, "First, we have to stabilize the existing procedures for sales of crude oil so that we will not risk losing anything. Then we need to think of new methods to boost exports."
Modern marketing techniques do not differ significantly from classic ones, he added, but have proved more room for flexibility in the business.
Qamsari disagreed with calls for auctioning as a marketing method and also differed with quoting crude oil in the stock market before its structure is prepared.
"Marketing for new customers will involve modern methods, but it does not mean putting oil on auction," he said.
Iran intends to increase crude oil production by 1 million barrels per day within six months after sanctions are lifted to regain its export quota in OPEC.
