Negotiations to assign the foreign contractor of the South Pars gas field’s last development phase are underway and the detailed plan will be introduced in the upcoming Iran Petroleum Contract (IPC) conference to be held in Tehran on November 28-29, said officials in the Ministry of Petroleum.
Managing Director of the Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company (IOEC) Gholamreza Manouchehri told Shana that foreign financers are interested in Iran’s post-sanction oil and gas projects.
Referring to Phase 11 development and Iran-Oman gas pipeline to be carried out by the IOEC, he said both domestic and foreign firms are interested in cooperation with competent authorized partners.
The gasline project includes laying the 400-kilometer land-sea pipeline from Iran to Oman. According to initial available data, the land part of the gas pipeline extends for 200 kilometers from Rudan to Mobark Mount in southern Hormozgan Province. The seabed section between Iran and Sohar Port in Oman will stretch for another 200 kilometers.
In the meantime, an official in the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) said the talks for financing the offshore section of Phase 11 in the joint field have not been finalized.
“No option has been decided so far,” Abdolmajid Delparish, the company’s director of consolidated planning told Shana.
