The first French container ship has docked in the southern Iranian port city of Bushehr, as the nuclear deal between Iran and P5+1 is gradually easing international sanctions against the Islamic Republic, said the managing director of the provincial Ports and Maritime Organization.
Belonging to CMA CGM, the third worldwide container ship company, the French cargo vessel is 157 meters long and has a waterline of 5.7, reported IRNA on Sunday, quoting Mohammad Rastad.
"The Port of Bushehr has been enlisted as one of the international ports and given the investments and the removal of sanctions, we can now expect container ships to visit the port," said Rastad.
With a loading and unloading capacity of seven million tons annually, Bushehr port is expanding with the development of nearby Negin Island to boost the capacity to 15 million tons a year.
