Iran's commercial attaché to Italy Mohammad Razi said that Italy’s biggest trade and business delegation will visit Iran later this month.
The delegation, holding members of 140 companies, will be in Tehran on November 29 to discuss ways for expansion of bilateral ties.
The companies are active in different fields including industry, business, mining, oil, gas and environment sectors as well as manufacturing of vehicles, different machineries and medical equipment.
He hoped that the visit of the Italian delegation to Iran will take bilateral ties back to its golden days, which existed before the imposition of sanctions.
The two countries’ annual trade stood at $7 billion, while it has dropped, due to the sanctions, to around $1 billion, he lamented.
Following Iran's nuclear deal with the 5+1, foreign trade groups particularly European ones, are visiting Iran, he said and added “noting the removal of sanctions in near future, more trade groups are visiting our country which will indeed impact expansion of business and trade.”
Razi said that Italy is EU’s third great economic power and added that the country can be a good market for Iran’s exported stuff since some 61m people live in the country.
He also added that President Rouhani, heading a high-ranking delegation, will pay a visit to Italy on upcoming Saturday during which MoUs and agreements will be signed.
