A Swiss firm has expressed willingness to invest €2 billion in 10 development plans in Tehran, as much as €200 million for each, Mohammad Hossein Mahmoudzadeh, the Iranian representative of the Swiss firm, said without naming the company.
“Since the projects have not been finalized yet, I cannot let slip the name of the Swiss firm due to economic competition reservations, but the firm has evaluated the projects very positively,” the IRIB quoted Mahmoudzadeh as saying on Tuesday.
He made the remarks on the sidelines of a seminar held to attract foreign investment to projects located in Tehran province.
Mahmoudzadeh further noted the focus of the firm will be more on water resources management, construction of new water treatment plants, as well as renovation of old water treatment systems.
Immediate investment of the firm, however, depends on the availability of qualified Iranian private sector companies.
With the nuclear pact clinched between Iran and major powers on the country’s nuclear program, there has been a surge of foreign investors seeking trade avenues in the country.
