Iran, Russia sign 7 cooperation documents
Iran and Russia signed 7 documents and MoUs on the sidelines of the GECF summit in line with bolstering and reinvigorating mutual cooperation.

The agreements were signed by the two countries’ high-ranking officials in the presence of President Rouhani and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the 3rd Gas Exporting Countries Forum on Monday.

The foreign ministers of Iran and Russia signed one agreement aimed to facilitate mutual travel conditions for citizens of the two countries.

The Iranian minister of health and medical education signed a memorandum of understanding with the his Russian counterpart while the Iranian deputy minister of roads and urban Development and the manager of the Russian International Railway Company signed another MoU on the electrification of railways between Garmsar and Inchebroon.

Meanwhile, two other MoUs were signed between the deputy chairman of Iran’s Central Bank and the president of the Russian state-owned Vonesh Economic Bank as well as with the Russian Export Credit Insurance Agency (Akzir).

Furthermore, another MoU was inked between the Iranian deputy energy minister and the president of the Russian Energy Agency with the purpose of assimilating the two countries' power transmission networks.

Iran’s deputy energy minister and the CEO of the Russian Technopromexport company also singed two other MoUs for the exploration and evaluation of deep groundwater reserves and for the construction of a power plant in Bandar Abbas, Iran.
