The 4th regional meeting of the UN Economic & Social Commission for Asia & the Pacific (UNESCAP) kicked off here on Monday.
Representatives from 15 countries in UNESCAP meeting will hear out reports and present recommendations within the framework of regional cooperation.
The two-day meeting will discuss the policy of strengthening transport hubs, improving regional transportation ties, recognition of challenges and opportunities to further cooperation between the member states of the meeting.
The secretary of the summit, Teymur Bashir Gonbadi said that the lack of proper transport in the region has caused increase in the trade costs which makes it necessary to establish ties between the regional states to decrease the costs.
