Iranian Oil Terminals Company (IOTC) has expedited the renovation of its single point moorings (SPM) and anchorages to increase crude oil exports.
"Assembling and final tests of SPM-3 in Kharg Island are underway," Sadeq Daravipour, IOTC technical director told Shana on Monday.
He said that all repair and maintenance operations at Kharg terminals including mooring arms, pipe arms, and MPDU are carried out by IOTC technicians.
Iran is planning to launch the second terminal, after the one on Kish Island, for exporting oil and gas in the Persian Gulf in Jask port, in the southern province of Hormuzgan, said Akbar Torkan, secretary of the Supreme Council of Iran's Free Trade, Industrial, and Special Economic Zones.
"Moreover, the National Iranian Oil Company plans to set up a hub for oil export in the Oman Sea," Torkan said last September.
