A 60-strong trade delegation from the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (TCCIMA) arrived in Germany on Sunday.
The delegation, led by TCCIMA Chairman Masoud Khansari, aims to boost trade cooperation with Germany’s Bavaria state during a 5-day visit to Munich and Berlin, according to the IRNA news agency.
On November 2, 2015, a trade delegation from Bavaria state headed by the president of Germany’s Bavarian Industry Association, Alfred Gaffal, met officials of the TCCIMA in a business forum in Tehran.
Also, a 100-member trade delegation from the German Federal State of Niedersachsen visited Iran in October 2015.
Meanwhile, Germany’s Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Sigmar Gabriel, who last July led the first top level German government visit to Tehran in 13 years, said a new chapter has opened in economic ties between Iran and Germany.
The German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) expects German exports to Iran to double to €5 billion ($5.5 billion) in coming years and reach twice that figure in the longer term.
German machinery, car, chemicals, healthcare and renewable energy firms are likely to be the biggest beneficiaries of the opening up of the Iranian market.
