An NIDC official announced that Iran has submitted a tender for oil and gas exploration projects in Uzbekistan.
Director of special projects of the National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) Hamid Bord pointed to Iran’s reply to Uzbekistan’s tender offer for oil and gas explorations saying “recently, we put in a tender for similar projects in India though it was on accepted on grounds of high price offer.”
Bord underlined “in the current situation, given the falling oil prices, many oil and gas exploration projects in different countries especially the Middle East have been shut down or their implementation has been postponed; meanwhile, we seek to make tenders at an international level in various countries particularly in countries of Central Asia and certain Persian Gulf states.
The official pointed to the recent talks with Oman and India maintaining “also, NIDC’s office in Uzbekistan has been established to have more active participation in tender invitations of the Central Asian country.”
The NIDC official went on to reiterate that “currently, Iran is capable of offering 10 oil and gas exploration services including two-dimensional and three-dimensional seismic projects, exploratory data processing and provision of a variety of technical and engineering services.”
“We are after equipping our logistic fleet on land and sea in order to have broader participation in international tender offers,” he continued.
Bord also referred to the overhaul of the Iranian exploratory hydrographic vessel concluding “the specialized vessel can be widely used in exploratory projects, especially in the Persian Gulf region.”
