Poland is in talks on oil and gas exploration and production in Iran which could lead to contracts for Polish industry, announced the country's Deputy Energy Minister Michal Kurtyka on Monday.
Polish state-run gas firm PGNiG said last year that it was looking at various options in oil and gas exploration and production in Iran. Polish refiners PKN Orlen and Lotos are also considering the purchase of oil from Iran.
"We are looking forward to cooperation with Iran when it comes to both PGNiG and our oil companies. Talks are being conducted on concrete contracts in (oil and gas) exploration and production as well as on trade agreements," Kurtyka told reporters at a Poland-Iran economic forum.
