Iran's annual petrochemical output is expected to reach 54.7 million tons in the year to mid-March 2017, said a senior National Petrochemical Company (NPC) official.
The company's Production Control Manager Ali Mohammad Bosaqzadeh said that in the year to March 19, 2016 Iran exported 18.1 million tons of petrochemical products on 1,176 cargo ships, Shana reported.
Iran's petrochemical exports during March 20-May 6 reached 6.7 million tons which shows a 10-percent growth compared to the amount for same period in 2015, the official said.
Petrochemical production in the year to March 19 totaled 46.4 million tons which shows a 100-percent rise in output against the figure for the year earlier, he noted.
Bosaqzadeh said that during the same year, Iran exported 18.1 million tons of petrochemical products indicating a growth of 23 percent compared to the amount for the preceding year.
