Chile's political and economic delegation headed by Foreign Minister Heraldo Muñoz Valenzuela will pay an official visit to Iran in September to develop relations and economic cooperation with Iran.
“The level of economic relations between Iran and Chile is four million dollars now and Chilean economic delegation will visit Iran with the aim of increasing ties and cooperation to achieve an amount 50 times the current level,” Chilean ambassador said in a meeting with the head of Iran-Chile Chamber of Commerce on Monday.
He also pointed to the natural production of nitric acid in Chile and announced that the presence of Chilean private companies in Iran will focus on finding direct sales opportunities in the country.
Chile's ambassador said Chilean major companies will also take part in a specialized seminar for introducing potassium nitrate and finding commercial partners in various agricultural fields.
Iranian side, for his part, highly regarded the reopening of Chile’s Embassy in Tehran calling it a way to enhance economic relations.
He said due to the good economic capacity of Chile in Latin America, a proper opportunity is provided for increased cooperation between entrepreneurs of the two countries.
He added that organizations and specialized commissions of Iran’s Chamber of Commerce enjoy great potential for inviting economic actors in different fields, including in trade seminar with Chile.
