Armenia's Energy Minister Levon Yolyan is scheduled to pay an official visit to Iran in the near future to discuss energy cooperation with Iranian officials, a report said.
According to Armenia's Hraparak newspaper, the Islamic Republic has raised gas exports to the neighboring country at Yerevan's request.
The rise in export came after Managing Director of National Iranian Gas Exports Company (NIGEC) Alireza Kameli announced earlier that Iran will export gas to Georgia through a supply station at a border village which delivers gas to Armenia.
Iran has built a 113-kilometer pipeline between its northwestern city of Tabriz and Nurduz border crossing to export gas to Armenia.
In 2004, Yerevan also initiated the construction of Iran-Armenia gas pipeline. The pipeline became fully operational in 2007.
