Iran and Serbia have called for further expansion of long-term cooperation in the fields of energy and mining following the implementation of Iran’s nuclear deal.
Iran’s Ambassador to Belgrade Hossein Mola Abdollahi held talks with Serbian Minister of Energy and Mining Aleksandar Antić in Belgrade on Friday, where the two sides stressed the need for closer cooperation and expansion of bilateral relations in the wake of the implementation of Iran’s nuclear deal and the lift of sanctions.
Abdollahi referred to the upcoming conference on introduction of Iran’s ample trade and economic capabilities in Serbia, adding representatives from Iranian private and public sectors active in various fields including energy will take part in the conference and discuss ways for expanding long-term cooperation between the two countries.
The Iranian ambassador noted the private sector’s readiness to participate in joint projects with Serbia, adding that new capacities for cooperation will be identified and introduced during Iran-Serbia’s 15th Joint Economic Commission’s meeting.
Aleksandar Antić, for his part, expressed hope that good talks would be held during his future visit to Tehran on expansion of bilateral transactions in the fields of energy and mining.
He also called for Iran’s participation in the privatization process of Serbia’s Pancevo refinery, highlighting the need for further mutual efforts for improving the level of cooperation between the two countries.
