An official at Iran’s TPO said a marketing business delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran will depart for Kenya.
Farhad Noori, Director of Business Services at Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPO), made the announcement saying “Kenya enjoys a unique geographical condition in East Africa and Kenyan economic activists, in both state and private sectors, are eager to expand trade ties with Iran.”
The official pointed to Kenya’s efforts to launch broker relations with Iranian banks saying “one objective pursued by the Iranian delegation will be to finalize the possibility of establishing correspondent banking relations with Kenya as the gateway to East Africa.”
“Iran’s share in Kenya’s trade turnover with other countries needs to be raised,” stressed Noori urging Iranian businessmen to pay due attention to potentials of the Kenyan market.
The TPO official, while describing capabilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran in all areas required by Kenya’s market, said “given the plan to set up regular shipping lines from Iran to ports in Kenya and demands of its consumerist market, sustained presence of Iran’s manufacturing units in the Kenyan market is essential.”
