The managing director of National Petrochemical Company (NPC) says her company has signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with energy giants Shell and Total for carrying out petrochemical projects in Iran, adding the deals are now in practical stages.
Marziyeh Shahdaei said the MOUs with Total and Royal Dutch Shell are now at a practical stage and the companies are assessing them technically and economically.
Speaking of barriers in export of petrochemicals to China, the official said talks have been held between Iranian and Chinese officials in this regard and the transactions between the two countries will be facilitated.
She said some Iranian exporters are having trouble exporting their goods to China but the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum and the Ministry of Economy are considering the issue.
