Message From Saied Rafeiefar, Secretary General of Iranian Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Products Exporters' Union (OPEX) and Secretary of Policymaking Council
Iran is holding its first exhibition on the downstream
oil industry, as the most significant event on the downstream oil, gas and
petrochemical industry, at a time Iran’s economy is dominated by both fear and
hope.
This event is an unrivalled chance for domestic
and international companies to showcase their achievements and services to
specialists and actors with a view to introducing their future activities and
innovations in light of market demand and the trend of growth in this sector.
Today, Iran needs a strategic unity within the
government and establishment in support of the downstream oil industry in order
to provide a safe path for an all-out development in the production and export
of petroleum products. The presence of exhibitors in the first exhibition on
the downstream oil sector is the manifestation of enhanced efforts by economic
and industrial actors, which would doubtlessly be highly instrumental in
safeguarding and securing financial interests.
This exhibition is attended by entities
involved in the production, equipment supply, engineering affairs and export of
oil as well as oil, gas and petrochemical products, and also by knowledge-based
companies, startups, research institutes and the transportation sector.
Holding such an event against the backdrop of
international threats and unjust sanctions is undoubtedly indicative of the
capacity of private entities in need analysis and pathology of downstream
industries. Notwithstanding the imposition of unfavorable economic conditions
and sanctions, the private sector is racing ahead.
Having brought together private entities, this
exhibition is co-sponsored by National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), National
Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC), Iran’s Industrial
Development and Renovation Organization (IDRO), Iran Chamber of Commerce,
Industry, Mine and Agriculture, Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mine and
Agriculture, and Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPO).
The Policymaking Council of this exhibition
comprises Iranian Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Products Exporters' Union (OPEX),
Union of Engineering and Manufacturing Companies, Iran Industrial Equipment
Manufacturers Association, Petrochemical Industry Employers Union, Energy
Committee of Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries
Company, Society of Iranian Petroleum Industry Equipment Manufacturers (SIPIEM),
Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mien and Agriculture, Iran National Plastic
and Polymer Industrial Association, Association of Petroleum Industry
Engineering and Construction companies (APEC), Oil Refining Industry Companies
Association (ORICA), Iran International Exhibitions Company, Iran Federation of
Oil Industry, and M &T Solutions.
Increased awareness of oil, gas and
petrochemical actors about the upstream oil, gas and petrochemical sectors and
their services, presenting domestic capabilities in the production and export
of petroleum products, manufacturing and exporting oil equipment, developing
and exporting innovation in the oil, gas and petrochemical sectors, holding
training workshops, organizing B2B meetings and specialized seminars, providing
a supply chain and preparing the ground for international interactions are
among the most important programs envisaged for this round of the exhibition.
Let’s hope that this significant event,
assisted by all actors, will mark a step ahead in favor of further upgrade and
reflection of the capabilities of participating companies at the national and
international levels.
