Iran’s non-oil exports including gas condensate rose by 24.2 and 7.3 percent respectively in terms of value and weight over the first 10 months of current Iranian calendar year as of March 21 2014 compared with the similar period last year.
Head of Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) Valliollah Afkhami announced the figures during a press conference, and said total non-oil exports of the country during the aforementioned period stood a 42.6 billion dollars.
He continued that total imports during the period hit 43.7 billion dollars, up by 15.4 percent and 34 percent in terms of value and weight respectively.
He said: "I think import tariffs on consumer commodities is expected not to change considerably next year in comparison to existing tariffs because instability in tariffs and constant change of tariffs lead to confusion for businesses."
Elsewhere in his remarks, he said the current trend of growing volume of foreign trade is expected to continue next year stating during the current week three trade exhibitions are to be held in Afghanistan, Iraq and Qatar with the goal of boosting trade.
Annual trade with two neighboring countries, Iraq and Afghanistan, stands at 5.12 billion and 2.037 billion dollars respectively, TPO chief said.
