Tehran to host 2015 GECF summit
The Iranian capital will host the 3rd Gas Summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) on November 23, 2015.

Gas giants from 18 GECF members and observes will attend the gathering.

Secretary General of the GECF Mohammad-Hossein Adeli had earlier told IRNA that the 3rd Gas Summit is will focus on issues related to the Forum as well as the situation of the world gas market.

Iran has officially invited member states to attend the gas summit.

The GECF has 18 members and observers. Member states include Iran, Russia, Qatar, Algeria, Bolivia, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Libya, Nigeria, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela, Peru, the UAE and Oman. The observer members are the Netherlands, Kazakhstan, Iraq and Norway.

Gas Exporting Countries Forum controls over 70 percent of world gas reserves.

Its Iranian secretary general took up the position about two years ago after being voted into office by the energy ministers of member states
