The South Pars Phase 19 will inject as much as 500 million cubic feet of gas a day into the national gas network before the cold season, official in charge of phase 19 of South Pars field Hamid Reza Masoudi said on Monday.
Masoudi said on Monday that the gas injection from the phase follows successful completion and operation of the major portion of five prioritized phases of South Pars gas field.
Masoudi said the phase 19 development project has made 86.6 percent progress and in the fall season, one of the platforms of the phase will be installed.
He put the extent of progress in the offshore, drilling and platform parts of the phase at 84.7, 99.5 and 74.5 percent respectively.
The SP Phase 19 development was awarded to the Oil Industries Engineering & Construction (OIEC) and Petropars. The phase will produce 2 billion cubic feet (57 million cubic metres) per day of natural gas, 75 million cubic feet (2.1 million cubic metres) of ethane, 80,000 barrels per day (13,000 m3/d) of natural gas condensate, 3,000 tons of LPG per day plus 400 tons of sulfur per day.
The phase is defined within phase 1 so it can be regarded as some kind of expansion for phase 1.
There are 21 wells offshore in the SP Phase 19 and number of offshore Platforms are four, including two main platforms and two satellite platforms.
Main pipelines in the phase include two 32” pipes to transfer gas from the main platforms to the onshore processing unit, totaling 260km together with two 4.5” pipelines.
The SP Phase 19 also contains infield pipelines: Two 18” cladded pipelines to transfer gas from the satellite platforms to the main platforms inlet, totaling 12km.
SP Phase 19 also has onshore processing unit: Gas and input liquids are processed in this unit, producing the following products: 50m scmpd of refined gas, 1.1 MT/year of liquefied gas for export, 77 thousand barrels/day of gas condensates for export, 1 MT/year of Ethane gas to feed the petrochemical plants.
The by-products yielded by the Phase 19 are: Sulphur (by product of gas sweetening process): 400 MT/day for export.
