Iran exported goods worth $5.39 billion weighing 10.934 million tons to Asian states during March 21-May 21, 2015, announced Trade Promotion Organization of Iran.
It added that over 11.923 million tons of commodities worth $4.616 billion were exported to Asian countries in the same two-month period of 2014 showing that the figures accounted for 94.2 percent and 92.7 percent of its total exports during the period in terms of weight and value, respectively, IRNA reported.
A comparison between exports during the mentioned period and the same period last year shows a decline of 8 percent in terms of weight and an increase of 9 percent in terms of value.
European states took in 342,000 tons of Iranian commodities worth $242 million accounting for 2.96 percent and 4.4 percent of Iran's total exports in terms of weight and value during the mentioned period.
In this period, the Africans absorbed 279,000 tons of commodities valued at $106 million.
In the mentioned two-month period, 373,000 tons of commodities worth $122 million were exported to Africa showing that the amount constituted 2.9 percent in terms of weight and 2.4 percent in terms of value of the total exports during the period.
Exports to the African continent showed a decline of 25 percent and 13 percent in terms of weight and value, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Pacific region imported 2,000 tons of Iranian goods worth $3 million while the American continent took in 1,000 tons of Iran's exports, worth $3 million
