Deputy Head of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) for Marketing Affairs, Mir-Abutaleb Badri, said on Sunday that foreign delegations visiting Iran rose up in the first three months of the current Iranian year of 1394 (started on March 20).
Badri said that in addition to the delegations visiting Iran, number of countries whose delegations visited Iran also grew up by 50 percent as number of members of the delegations increased by 30 percent compared to the figures in the first season of last year.
He added that in the three-month period, 159 merchants toured Iran within framework of six delegations from eight countries – in the same period last year 207 traders within framework of 14 delegations from 12 countries visited Iran.
The official cited the nationality of the visiting traders in the first season of this year as Switzerland, Germany, Austria, South Africa, China, Turkey, Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Lebanon and Iraq.
While in Iran, the delegations held talks with Iranian counterparts on Iran commercial capacity and expansion of economic cooperation.
The major occasions the delegations visited Iran were the Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition (Oil Show), International Exhibition Of Medical Equipment, the Third International Rail Transportation Exhibition And Related Industry (RAILEXPO), International Exhibition of Agricultural Industries (Iran agro food 2014) and International Gifts, Handicrafts, Watches & Houseware Fair 2014.
