Iran's Ambassador to Germany Ali Majedi highlighted a 'roadmap' for further expanding Berlin-Tehran trade relations, the Frankfurt-based daily Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper said Saturday.
Majedi also announced that the newly revived German-Iranian Economic Commission will soon convene to discuss a roadmap for boosting economic ties.
German companies should also be ready to invest in Iran as well as transfer technological know-how. German firms can also manufacture products in Iran retaining their trademark quality certifications, Majedi added.
He cited the energy sector and automobile industry as areas for increased cooperation between the two countries.
Majedi also called on more small-and mid-sized German companies to invest in Iran.
Germany and Iran have held numerous German-Iranian trade conferences while a German business delegation has visited Iran in recent weeks following the historic July 14 Vienna nuclear accord.
Representative of German companies have visited Iran following last month's high-profile visit by German Vice-Chancellor and Economic Minister Sigmar Gabriel, to land lucrative multi-billion euro business deals.
Meanwhile, Germany's DIHK chambers of trade and commerce, is aiming to break the €10-billion export mark in Iran over the next four years. "In the next two years, exports could more than double to reach almost €5 billion," said DIHK chief foreign trade expert Volker Treier
