Deputy Minister of Industries, Mines and Trade, Valiollah Afkhamirad, said on Sunday that Italy imported as much as 193 million dollars worth goods from Iran in the past four months and that 40 percent of Iranian exports have been destined to Europe.
Afkhamirad told the meeting of the commission to facilitate trade and development of exports, held at Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, that value of exports in the first four months the current Iranian year is estimated to stand at $14 billion, showing 15 percent decrease compared to the figure in the preceding period.
He said 40 percent decrease was recorded in export of gas condensates, which pushed down total value of Iran's exports in the four-month period.
He added that export of petrochemical products in the past four months rose up by 38.5 percent in terms of weight. The exports however remained stable in terms of value in the period under study, he noted.
Head of the Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) said Egypt in Africa absorbed 150 million dollars worth of Iranian exports in the period and thus, having a share of 60 percent in Iranian exports to the African continent.
The official said that export of machinery, iron-ore, cement and mineral products decreased compared to the figures in the preceding period.
