Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zangeneh said on Sunday that the US administration has not made preparatory works for American oil companies' presence in Iran, as no American oil company has applied for presence in Iranian oil industry yet.
Namdar Zangeneh made the remarks in a press conferess after a meeting with Daishiro Yamagiwa, Japan's minister of state for economy, trade and industry.
Responding to a question about the US oil companies' presence parallel with the European and South Asian companies in Iranian oil industries' development projects, he said that the entire international companies can compete for gaining permits for development of the Iranian oil and gas fields.
In addition to the Japanese state minister, the Japanese delegation is comprised of managers in finance, oil and gas, planning and environment protection, fuel and Middle East affairs, economy, trade and Japanese industries top managers.
The managers and representatives of such multinational Japanese firms as Mitsubishi, Toyota, Sumitomo, Itochu, Sojitz, Kono Matsu, Mitsui, Kansai Paint, Sanden Holding, Nippon Steel, Sumitomo Metal, Toyo, JGC, Kobe Steel, Chivada, Tokyo's UFJ Mitsubishi Bank, Sumitomo-Mitsui Banks Group, Misoho Bank, Nippon JX Oil and Energy Group, Shwashel, INPEX Corporation, the Japanese Trade Federation (Keidanren), The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), Japan International Cooperation Bank, Japan Exports and Investments Insurance Company, Japan's National Metals, Oil and Gas Group and Center for Japan-Middle East Cooperation were present in the talks.
