The eighth Iran-Austria joint economic committee meeting will be held in the next Iranian calendar month (starting on 23 August) in Tehran.
The meeting will be held concurrent with Austrian president's trip to Iran.
Austria’s deputy ministers of economy and telecommunication will hold a preparatory session on August 18-19 in Tehran.
In the wake of historic pact reached between Iran and the six powers on Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, officials from various countries of the world have flocked to Tehran to resume all-out ties with Iran.
European countries, encouraged by a unanimous UN Security Council endorsement, are busily mending fences with Iran, keen not to miss out on potentially financial and trade dividends in the wake of the nuclear deal.
Making the first visit to Iran by a French foreign minister for 12 years, Laurent Fabius said that France hoped to cash in on business opportunities, especially oil and cars. A delegation of about 100 French business leaders will visit Tehran in September.
Others have not been far behind. Sigmar Gabriel, Germany’s vice-chancellor and economy minister, traveled to Iran last month in an effort to get in early. A delegation of German business representatives also travelled to Iran.
Italy’s foreign minister also held talks in Tehran. A memorandum of understanding with Italy’s development ministry and export credit agency was signed.
Top officials from Spain, Austria, Serbia and Switzerland have also recently travelled the road to Iran.
