Tehran is to host the second international conference on technological opportunities in Iran's oil and gas industry in September, head of the Research Institute of Petroleum Industry said.
Mohammad Reza Katouzian said the event is slated to be mounted on September 30 in Tehran and will be focused on the policy of ceding integrated management of petroleum reserves to the country's universities and research centers.
"The resistive economy directive stresses enhancing recovery from oil and gas fields, especially the ones Iran shares with its neighbors, as well as generation of value-added by completing the value chain in the country's oil and gas industry," he said.
"This has been specifically focused upon in the conference's targets for the upstream sector of the industry."
Given Iran's nuclear agreement with world powers on July 14 and the bright prospect of western sanctions relief for Iran, the conference is expected to become an important international venue for leading research centers and companies from around the globe who have indicated their interest to return to Iran in the post sanctions era.
